By Dr. Jeffrey Lant
In the Millionaire Mentoring Magic course, we have promised you the straight truth about what it takes to make maximum money online. Now I have the duty and pleasure to explain to you -- in detail -- precisely how to make money online with your own newsletter (ezine). I am going to do just that.
Making Sure You Understand The Objective: Profiting From Your Newsletter, Not Just Publishing It
Let me be ultra-frank. The objective of publishing your ezine is NOT to publish an ezine. No way. The objective of publishing your ezine is to MAKE CONSISTENT (GROWING AMOUNTS OF) MONEY!
You must grasp this point.
99% of the ezine publishers online think they are in the information business. If they are charging for their ezine, then they are right to think so. THEY make money principally through paid subscriptions and paid advertising. This group of online ezine publishers is, however, small.
The overwhelming majority of individuals publishing online ezines does not charge for them. These folks need to understand that the point of their newsletter is to MAKE MONEY, not just to publish it. This means you must understand how to profit consistently from ezines.
Now hear this: there is absolutely nothing wrong with publishing a free ezine. There is, however, everything wrong with publishing a free ezine that doesn't make consistent, growing (as the list grows) profits.
The point of this video and this report is to ensure that your ezine makes you money consistently.
The Money-Making Ezine Is Composed Of Both Customer-Centered Content & Advertising.
Ezines that make money are divided into two key parts: content and advertising. To make consistent money, your ezine cannot just be about content. Content per se doesn't make you money. Similarly, it cannot just have ads. Ezines with just advertising cause people to unsubscribe, thereby killing any chance of profit. Your ezine must have both.
Your Ezine Must Speak Directly To Your Designated Target Audience
Publishers publishing ezines that make consistent profits never forget who the ezine is for and never stop speaking directly to these people.
Consider Sandi Hunter's superb newsletter "Design Profit." The audience is people online who want to design the most effective, profit- making website possible.
ALL content in this newsletter is about effective website design.
ALL advertising in this publication is designed to generate responses from people worldwide who want a customer-centered, profit-making, effective website.
The publication -- and all content and customer messages -- is strictly focused on what the audience wants and on motivating that audience to respond -- and BUY!
Newsletter Content Must Be Conversational
After a clear lack of understanding what they are publishing the newsletter to do, the next biggest mistake ezine publishers make is failing to speak directly to their readers/future customers. This makes it impossible for them to achieve the true goal of such a newsletter -- to make money consistently!
Your newsletter must be conversational. Instead of presenting information in the third-person,. It must be strictly written in the second person; that is it must speak to "you", the reader, directly, person-to-person, just the way this report does.
You see, all marketing copy -- and the ezine you create is just that -- must be customer/ reader centered. That is the way to touch people, enthuse people, and get people to take immediate action.
You cannot bore people into action by dumping un-digested information on them. You can only get them to act, as your newsletter must get them to act, by transforming everything in your newsletter into client-centered modules.
Profit Tip: Take the newsletter you've written and do a quick test. Are you speaking directly to your readers/subscribers? Are you consistently using the magic word "you"? Or are you just presenting paragraph after paragraph of information that does not speak directly to the reader? Are you trying to impress the reader with what you're giving them? Or are you trying to speak directly to them and motivate them to read it and take action? Unless you motivate your reader to act, your ezine is a profit failure.
Keep Your Newsletter Short
People are busy, busier every day. Time is in short demand. Make sure you take this into account when you create your newsletter.
* Your ezine should be not more than 2 pages in length.
* If you want a longer newsletter, post it online and email only announcement/teaser copy to readers, like
"In this issue, here's what you'll find...."
Include the link that subscribers can click on to access the copy.
* Alternatively, post the complete ezine online and promote readership by emailing subscribers the headline and opening paragraph of each article. Let readers know they can get the rest by clicking on a link.
* Use Video In Your Ezine
Record a video that opens each issue of your ezine. Use this to tell your subscribers all about what they'll find in this issue, what's coming in the next issue, AND the hot offers you have for them in this issue. (Remember, your ezine is all about making consistent profits.)
If you post your newsletter online and promote it by emailing subscribers information about each issue and the link to it, incorporate video into this description/promotion copy. This enables you to excite your subscribers and increase readership while keeping what you email them to a minimum, thereby minimizing any interference from spam blocks.
Remember, at all times, your goal is to increase readership while giving you the opportunity to motivate subscribers to act and take advantage of the offers you include in your newsletter.
Set A Strict Publishing Schedule And Adhere To It Religiously
An ezine, as I trust I have made clear, is an asset, a tool which you can use to make more and more money online as you grow your list. To maximize profits you must set and adhere to a strict publishing schedule.
Just how often you publish should be a function of how much money you make per issue and the tolerance of your audience for information. There are generally four acceptable publishing alternatives: weekly, three times weekly, two times weekly, or daily.
How do you know which to select?
Newbies should start with once a week, on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday.
As you develop a facility for writing and assembling each issue, you can increase to two or three times a week. (I use this schedule with most of my newsletters.)
If you have a great deal of timely information to impart and if the profits generated by your ezine so warrant, you can upgrade your ezine publishing schedule to once a day. (I find a daily publishing schedule appropriate for my own Bulletin, emailed daily to all Worldprofit Dealers and Associates.)
What Time Of The Day Should You Publish?
You should publish your ezine first thing in the morning, without exception. Early receipt of your ezine gives it the full day to work to your advantage. Extra editions, of course, should be published whenever the importance of the content and/or advertising messages warrant.
Growing Your List
Your ezine is really a sophisticated advertisement. As such, you want it to be emailed to just as many people as possible. This means growing your list every single day.
There are many ways to grow ezine lists:
* include a subscription form on your website (mandatory)
* subscribe your customers as part of the inquiry and purchase process
* add all pay-per-click prospects
* ask subscribers to forward issues to their contacts
* give a small present for all subscribers referred by current subscribers
* purchase subscribers (as a Worldprofit dealer you can do this 24/7 in your dealer area. When you want to grow your subscription FAST, this is the preferred way to do so.)
The Crucial Importance Of Your Listserver
We now come to the absolutely crucial matter of how you distribute your newsletter. To do so you must have your own listserver. Here I must recommend Worldprofit's ilistserver -- which starts you off with 200 subscribers. Candidly, it's the single best listserver on the market. Why? Because it was specifically developed for use by me and has everything a master marketer intent on maximum profits needs.
With this listserver, you create your own email lists of your customers, staff, contacts, agents, suppliers and prospects. You get the option to create not just one but UNLIMITED lists and mail UNLIMITED times to your lists in either HTML or text formats. We call this the Multi-List iListserver.
With the Multi-List iListserver you get
* automated opt-in for new subscribers
* the option to add 10 new subscribers at once
* ability to customize the automated welcome letter sent to list subscribers (Note: it is very important that you email all new subscribers acknowledging that they have subscribed. This is a perfect opportunity to make a "new subscriber special offer". This feature enables you to update this offer and letter as needed.)
* archive all previous postings.
Important: we can even custom design your newsletter in full color to get your customer's attention and help you generate leads and make more sales. Your ezine can allow you to add pictures, special offers, formatting, bold, even hyperlinks to websites.
